The Honorable Judge Walter Rice and CVK Celebrate Success
Circle of VisionKeepers is partnering with the Federal Courts and Probation Department to mentor reentry participants, under the direction of the Honorable Judge Walter Rice and Kristen Keyer, Probation Officer​.​
​ Mentor’s will be assessed for the capacity to service the Returning Citizens (pre and post release from prison and treatment). CVK mentors assist clients by planning and supporting the reentry experience. They also help with writing letters or cards, provide bus tokens, passes, as well as take them to job interviews, building positive relationships.
The Circle of VisionKeepers demonstrates that carefully structured, well-run mentoring programs can positively affect social, behavioral and academic outcomes for people returning home from treatment, jail and prison.

With the "Four Phases of Success", the Visionkeepers program has also shown how mentoring works, through the development of a trusting relationship between the Returning Citizens and an adult mentor who provides consistent, nonjudgmental support and guidance.
​ The Circle of Vision Keepers mentoring program was started by the late, Dr. Robin"Doc" Herman, who was able to see the greatness in others until they could see it in themselves. Building relationships with self, family and the community is the basis for a strong and healthy foundation in Recovery and Reentry. ​
The program has proven the success of this practice for over 15 years (where the mentors are reimbursed for their time) and continues under the Direction of Program Director, Khadjah Ali, and Senior Facilitator, Dave Thaler, who bring over 20 years of experience between the two. Both were mentored by Doc Herman before his untimely death due to cancer in 2009. We are committed and determined to carry on Doc's Vision and add some of our own to this blessed legacy.​
